This is all about my interests in Industrial, Visual and User Experience Design. This blog first started as a online folio for a Furniture Design Subject when I studied at Swinburne University.

1:1 Scale Exploration
Here we explored our intended design against the measurements of a real life chair.

This study will give me a better idea in size what I will be working with and will help me gauge the size constraints my proto type is to work within
Form Exploration Model, Welding Training
I undertook welding training in order to prepare me for my final prototype with shocking results.
Though the model was not to scale I learned how to bend rod and use the Mig Welder... not properly though
I am a shit welder!

Concept Development
Here, I explored the dominant form of the chair seeing that the side profile adds the most character to a chair visually, I focused on capturing the right elements within the side profiles
Return Brief
My design intent is to create a simple modern yet sustainable cafe chair that evokes a petite look adding my own flare of design through defying normal perceptions of a chair.
The chair is designed for mass produce, with its primary role being for outdoor use. As a result the chair will utilize simple steel tubes and mesh cushioning whilst also being within the design constraints of a 500 cubed box.

It would also be ideal for my design to be ergonomic and promote good posture.
